Wondering what are the Symptoms of a Bad Radiator?

radiator service princeton mn

This is lots of winters yet to come.  Don’t find yourself stranded on the side of the road wondering about what are the symptoms of a bad radiator.  You also need to make sure you have the right antifreeze/water mixture to keep your engine from freezing.  If you have not already scheduled radiator service, don’t delay any longer.

What are the symptoms of a bad radiator?  Take a look at the 3 issues below:
  • Overheating – If the coolant cannot get to where it wants to go, your engine could overheat, even in freezing temperatures.  Make sure the hoses aren’t clogged or that the level of antifreeze/coolant isn’t too low.  If you see a warning light on the dash or the temperature gauge rising to the hot zone, get your car off the road instantly to prevent damage to your engine.
  • Leaking – If you see a puddle on the garage floor or warning the smell of antifreeze, there may be a cracked hose or the radiator is corroded with rust.  Radiator hoses and clamps should be checked frequently.
  • Smoking – If there is smoke coming from under the hood, it may simply be that coolant has leaked onto the motor and is being burnt off. Though, smoke coming from the muffler could mean that the head gasket has been damaged from the engine overheating.
Regular radiator service is vital to inspect the hoses and radiator unit for leaking and to make sure the antifreeze/water mixture is still effective.  A flush of the cooling system may be suggested, or simply want to be topped off.

Wheel Alignment: Stay In Control!

Car Alignment Princeton MN

Do you feel like you’re losing control of your vehicle as you head down the road? If your car needs a wheel alignment, it could be the cause of an accident! The correct wheel alignment affects the ride and handling of your vehicle. Your car should track straight and true on a level road, unless there are other issues causing steering problems.

If you are looking for Car Alignment Princeton MN than find our dedicated Tune Up Princeton MN Services shop. Also find Radiator Repair Princeton MN to have safe driving.

A car alignment consists of adjusting the angles of the wheels so that they are perpendicular to the ground and parallel to each other. A correct wheel alignment helps to minimize excessive wear and tear on your tires, saving you money in the long run with longer- lasting tires. If your car has a mind of its own (swerving all over the road), ask your car alignment technician to check for a lost wheel alignment.

A car alignment service should typically include:

  • A test drive at the start of the alignment service,
  • The front end and steering linkage checked for excessive wear,
  • The tires checked for excessive camber wear (caused by the tires making only partial contact with the road). All four tires should have even wear patterns.
  • Checking other components that could cause steering problems, such as poor tires, failing brakes, or faulty power steering, and
  • A test drive at the end of the alignment service.
Tip to Remember: Most drivers know their vehicle well enough to recognize a wheel alignment problem. If you are experiencing steering problems, schedule an inspection and repair with a car alignment technician as soon as possible to prevent further possible damage to other components of your vehicle.

Engine Rebuild? Prevent it with quality Engine Service!

It’s not what you want to hear from your auto mechanic after he has taken a look at your car to diagnose what is causing the clattering noise and smoking exhaust. No engine service is more major than an engine rebuild. This type of engine service usually requires a lot of time and money. Before making a decision to either replace your old engine with a new one or to have an engine rebuild, it is wise to consider the differences between them.

If you are looking for engine repair Princeton MN your search can be over with our Rum River auto repair in Princeton MN area. Also find radiator repair Princeton MN with our dedicated mechanic.

Engine Replacement – A replacement typically involves either a new engine from the factory or one that has been reconditioned. The new is more expensive, but typically has a better warranty. A reconditioned engine (one that has been entirely disassembled, repaired with either reconditioned parts or new parts and reassembled) is less expensive, but generally does not have the same warranty as new. Both choices are reliable. Your decision will depend on what you can afford to pay, and how long your vehicle has to stay in the auto shop. If you plan to sell or trade your car anytime soon, it would probably be most economical to have a reconditioned engine installed instead of brand new.

Engine Rebuild – This is when the automotive shop removes the original engine from your car and rebuilds it from top to bottom. This means repairing parts that can be repaired and replacing other parts that are not salvageable with either reconditioned or new. Then, it is reassembled and reinstalled into your car. The cost of an engine rebuild depends upon the automotive service center and their resources.

Get all the facts before choosing between a replacement or a rebuild so you can make a wise and intelligent decision.
